Visit to Erzurum Atatürk University from TÜSEB President Prof. Dr. Ümit Kervan: Important Cooperation Steps on Domestic Pharmaceutical Production
TÜSEB President Prof. Dr. Ümit Kervan visited Erzurum Atatürk University and examined the scientific and technological studies of the university. Within the scope of the visit, Kervan met with Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, Rector of Atatürk University, in his office, and cooperation opportunities in health technologies and domestic pharmaceutical production were evaluated.
Atatürk University will be the locomotive of domestic pharmaceutical production
Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu stated that Atatürk University has become an important centre for the production of domestic pharmaceuticals in Turkey and the cooperation with TÜSEB in this field was discussed at the meeting. Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu stated that they attach great importance to the production of domestic pharmaceuticals as a university, that the researchers within the university carry out important studies and that they always support the academicians carrying out these studies as the administration. President Kervan stated that these efforts will contribute greatly to Turkey's independence targets in pharmaceutical and health technologies.
Strategic Meeting with the University Council
At the meeting with the University Council, TÜSEB President Kervan listened to the presentations made within the scope of R&D activities for the development of innovative projects in the field of health, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. In particular, the acceleration of scientific studies in domestic pharmaceutical production and how this process will be strengthened with the support of TÜSEB were discussed. Kervan stated that universities play a key role in Turkey's scientific development and that TÜSEB is ready to contribute to these projects.
DAYTAM Visit: Full Support for Advanced Technology Studies
Prof. Dr. Kervan also visited Atatürk University Eastern Anatolia High Technology Application and Research Centre (DAYTAM) and examined the centre's work in the field of health and pharmaceuticals and received information about projects based on advanced technology. Kervan appreciated DAYTAM's successful work in the field of domestic drug production and biotechnology, and emphasised that the joint projects to be carried out by the centre with TÜSEB will make significant contributions to Turkey's independence in the pharmaceutical sector.
Steps Forward with Strong Collaborations
The visit was completed as an important step towards the deepening of cooperation between TÜSEB and Atatürk University in many strategic areas, especially in domestic pharmaceutical production, and the realisation of innovative projects.
