Who We Are
Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB) was established with the primary objective of contributing to the advancement of our country and humanity in the fields of health sciences and technologies, while also promoting planned and sustainable development. In alignment with the objective of addressing Türkiye's need for cutting-edge technology and innovation in health sciences and technologies, reducing foreign dependency, and enhancing and maintaining competitiveness, a strategic plan is implemented that is carefully aligned with the goals of the national development plan, as well as the priorities set forth by the President and the Ministry of Health.
Within the framework of TÜSEB, nine research institutes have been established in the field of health sciences and technologies, in accordance with the nation's specific needs.
The institutes established for this purpose are as follows:
- Türkiye Cancer Institute
- Türkiye Biotechnology Institute
- Türkiye Maternity, Child, and Adolescent Health Institute
- Türkiye Public Health and Chronic Diseases Institute
- Türkiye Traditional and Complementary Medicine Institute
- Türkiye Health Care Quality and Accreditation Institute
- Türkiye Health Policies Institute
- Türkiye Vaccine Institute
- Türkiye Health Data Research and Artificial Intelligence Applications Institute
TÜSEB possesses a dynamic structure that enables it to adapt and update its organizational framework in the field of health research by incorporating new institutes in alignment with the evolving demands of time and circumstances. Additionally, it facilitates the expansion of its collaborative network with both national and international health and research institutions.
In addition to its research institutes, TÜSEB encompasses the Aziz Sancar Research and Development Centre (ASAGEM), the R&D Directorate Localization Coordination Centre, and the Clinical Research Centre.
At the campuses located in Ankara and Istanbul, under the auspices of the relevant institutes, offices, and centres, active initiatives are undertaken to accomplish the following objectives:
- Facilitating the production of new products and the development, localization, and nationalization of existing ones;
- Advancing the development of medical products and technologies essential to our national health system, including pharmaceuticals, vaccines, medical devices, biomaterials, and diagnostic kits, by transitioning them from the R&D phase to the production phase and converting them into clinically applicable products;
- Promoting research and development (R&D), clinical research, and technology development initiatives within both the public and private sectors, while providing researchers with an enabling scientific environment;
- Facilitating the provision of funding for R&D, clinical research, and technology development activities through project support mechanisms structured in accordance with the principles of free competition, transparency, and equality;
- Engaging in and commissioning fundamental, translational, and clinical research in collaboration with public institutions, universities, research organizations, and the private sector;
- Taking requisite measures to implement personalized medicine within the national healthcare system, developing targeted diagnostic, monitoring, and treatment strategies, and enhancing processes aimed at improving life expectancy and elevating the quality of clinical practices;
- Spearheading the advancement of health science and technology culture and ecosystems;
- Overseeing accreditation activities within healthcare services;
- Ensuring the formulation and implementation of preventive and predictive health policies that facilitate the more efficient utilization of financial resources within healthcare systems;
- Organizing courses, conferences, training programs, and events aimed at fostering progress in the field of health sciences and technologies, while also contributing to the cultivation of qualified human resources for our country.
Mission: To spearhead innovation-driven initiatives conducted systematically through a multidisciplinary approach in the field of health sciences and technologies, while providing scientific, technical, and financial support to practitioners and researchers in these domains. Additionally, to promote the localization and nationalization of technologies in alignment with the evolving needs of our country, ensuring a response to emerging advancements.
