BIOEXPO Fair and Vaccine Symposium Was Held
BIOEXPO held on 6 – 8 October and supported by TUSEB ended.
In the fair held within BIOEXPO, the guests and professionals being interested in health sciences and Technologies visit TUSEB stand. TUSEB researchers and experts informed the visitors about the projects and studies of TUSEB and the Institutes.
President of TUSEB Prof. Dr. Erhan Akdoğan was one of the keynote speakers in BIOEXPO Vaccine Symposium hosted many events.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Akdoğan announced that Turkey’s first domestic vaccine TURKOVAC supported by TUSEB initiated Inactive (3rd dose) Phase – III studies while mentioning the studies that TUSEB has made great contributions during COVID-19 pandemic.
Following the opening speech, “Vaccine Studies Developed by TUSEB in Turkey Against COVID-19” session moderated by President of TUSEB Prof. Dr. Erhan Akdoğan was held. Dr. Ahmet Çağlar Özketen, Nanografi I.C. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, Atatürk University, Assoc. Dr. Serap Derman, Yıldız Technical University, Prof. Dr. Kadir Turan, Marmara University, Assoc. Dr. Semra Aydın, Hacettepe University, Prof. Dr. Tarlan Mammedov, Akdeniz University took part in the session where the project coordinators of vaccine studies supported by TUSEB. Speakers gave information on the vaccine studies.
In the “TURKOVAC Panel” held within the Symposium, Deputy Vice President of TUSEB and Director of Turkish Biotechnology Institute Assoc. Dr. Rabia Çakır Koç was the moderator; and Prof. Dr. Aykut Özdarendeli, Erciyes University, developed the first domestic COVID-19 Vaccine TURKOVAC and Prof. Dr. Serhat Ünal, Hacettepe University, who is the Phase – III Turkey Coordinator, participated as speakers.
On the second day of Vaccine Symposium, Head of Project Management and Support Department Exp. Mol. Bio. Batuhan Yeşilyurt made a presentation titled “The Product-Oriented TUSEB Project Supports for Health Science and Technologies” in Clinical Research Association Panel.
