Cooperation Meeting Held Between TUSEB and Mongolian Health Authorities (6 October 2025)

6 October 2025, Ankara — Prof. Dr. Ateş Kara, Head of Türkiye Vaccine Institute, and Prof. Dr. Burak Civelek, Head of Türkiye Cancer Institute under Health Institutes of Türkiye (TUSEB), met with the delegation of the Ministry of Health of Mongolia at TUSEB Aziz Sancar Research Center. The Mongolian delegation was composed of Dr. Ochirbat Dagvadorj, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health of Mongolia; Dr. Bold Sharay, President of the Mongolian Academy of Medical Sciences; and Dr. Orgil Burentuvshin, Senior Officer at the Ministry of Health. The meeting was also attended by Tuğba Ataman Atak, Health Expert at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye, and Engin Uçar, Head of Support Services Unit at Aziz Sancar Research Center.

During the meeting, the TUSEB representatives provided the Mongolian delegation with information on the institution’s activities as well as ongoing vaccine and cancer research studies. They shared details about the development of a Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) vaccine, which has not yet been developed globally; the production and export of scorpion and snake antivenoms to Europe; planned studies on a plague vaccine; production processes for pneumococcal and influenza vaccines; research on cancer vaccines and CAR-T therapy; and R&D studies on diseases caused by environmental factors.

The Mongolian delegation conveyed their interest in establishing cooperation in the fields of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, as well as their request for specialized training in vaccine development in Türkiye. In addition, potential areas of collaboration regarding respiratory diseases caused by increased coal use during the winter season were also discussed.

The visit was considered an important step towards strengthening sustainable, inclusive, and multidimensional cooperation opportunities between Türkiye and Mongolia in the field of health.
