Innovative Idea Competition in Health by TÜSEB TTO!

The ‘Innovation Idea Competitions in Health by TÜSEB TTO” is set to begin. The competition aims to develop and disseminate a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in public hospitals within the scope of the 'From Idea to Product, Innovative Health Model,' which was implemented by the Ministry of Health and Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB).

Organized by TÜSEB Technology Transfer Office, the competitions seek to encourage innovative thinking and entrepreneurship in the health sector, bringing forth creative ideas and solutions that originate from the observations and experience of healthcare professionals working in the field.

Applications will be accepted between September 1 and November 1, 2025.

APPLICATION DATES

September 1 – November 1, 2025

APPLICATION METHOD AND CONDITIONS

  • The competitions are open only to healthcare professionals working in public hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health.
  • Participation can be individual or as a team.
  • The scope of the submitted projects must be directly related to the field of health.
  • For team applications, if the team includes researchers/stakeholders from outside the Ministry of Health, the project coordinator must be an employee of the Ministry of Health.
  • Projects that have previously participated in and received an award from a different competition will not be accepted for this competition.
  • An individual or a team may apply to the competition with more than one project.
  • Project applications must be made using the "Application Form" prepared by TÜSEB Technology Transfer Office (TTO). Applications must be sent via email to tto.etkinlik@tuseb.gov.tr between September 1, 2025 – November 1, 2025.
  • Application forms that are incomplete or incorrectly filled will not be taken into consideration.

A. Competition Awards in the Most Innovative Idea Category

  • First Rank: ₺40,000.00 + TÜSEB TTO Mentorship Support + Product Commercialization Support
  • Second Rank: ₺30,000.00 + TÜSEB TTO Mentorship Support
  • Third Rank: ₺20,000.00 + TÜSEB TTO Mentorship Support
  • Honourable Mention: Certificate + TÜSEB TTO Mentorship Support

B. Competition Award in the Most Innovative Health Professional Category

Award: Certificate + TÜSEB TTO Mentorship Support (This award will be provided to the healthcare professional who has submitted the highest number of projects to the competition.

C. Competition Award in the Most Innovative Hospital Category 

Award: Most Innovative Hospital Award Certificate (This award will be given to the hospital that submits the highest number of projects to the competition.) 

PROJECT EVALUATION CRITERIA

Projects will be evaluated by expert jury members based on the following criteria. Projects will be scored out of a total of 100 points.

1. Scientific Merit (20 points)

  • The project must be founded on scientific basis in terms of both concept and application.
  • The project must be compatible with literature, current research, and evidence-based practices.

2. Novelty and Originality (20 points)

  • The project must constitute a new invention or present an innovative approach to existing solutions.
  • It must have characteristics that are interesting, striking, clear, and comprehensible.

3. Applicability (10 points)

  • The project must be easily integrable into the current operation of healthcare services.
  • Its application in healthcare services must be easy and practical.

4. Cost and Resource Utilization (10 points)

  • Feasibility within existing capabilities without requiring high costs,
  • Contribution to the effective utilization of resources.

5. Contribution to Healthcare Services (15 points)

  • Providing a benefit to the current operation of healthcare services or offering a contribution through a new implementation proposal,
  • Directly addressing the needs of healthcare professionals and the community.

6. Prototype Development Status (10 points)

  • The existence of a prototype for the project,
  • Development at the level of design, model, or preliminary implementation.

7. Patentability and Commercialization Potential (15 points)

  • The project meeting the criteria for a patent and utility model,
  • Possessing commercialization potential.

COPYRIGHT AND USAGE 

  • Participants are deemed to have consented to the use of their projects for promotional purposes within the competition.
  • TÜSEB reserves the right to collaborate with project owners for the further development and support of the winning projects.

ENTRY INTO FORCE AND AUTHORITY

  • The competition provisions have been prepared by TÜSEB.
  • The authority to make all regulations and amendments related to the competition belongs to TÜSEB.
  • The competition provisions shall be executed by TÜSEB.
