Lean Hospital Symposium Held in Ankara

The Lean Hospital Symposium, organized in collaboration with Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB), Türkiye Health Care Quality and Accreditation Institute (TÜSKA), and Ankara Provincial Health Directorate, was held on May 5, 2025, hosted by Etlik City Hospital, Ankara.

The opening speech of the symposium was delivered by President of TÜSEB, Prof. Dr. Ümit KERVAN. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ümit KERVAN stated that the lean healthcare management approach contributes to patient focus, resource efficiency, and sustainability in service quality, and emphasized that as TÜSEB, they are conducting institutional-level studies to disseminate this approach across Türkiye.

Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Ümit KERVAN stated that the nationwide implementation of digitalization, integrated management systems, and lean organization models in healthcare services is of strategic importance in increasing the efficiency of health institutions. Emphasizing that TÜSEB will continue to support innovative approaches in healthcare, Prof. Dr. Ümit KERVAN highlighted that the symposium provides a significant platform for knowledge sharing.

Within the scope of the symposium, the contributions of the lean approach to the healthcare system were addressed comprehensively through academic sessions, along with its applications in treatment, care, support, and clinical services.
