Scientific Monitoring Meeting and Introduction of Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever Vaccine Candidate planned to be produced domestically and nationally in cooperation with TÜSEB and Ankara University
With the support of TÜSEB, Ankara University has launched domestic and national vaccine studies for the prevention of Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever.
Domestic and national vaccine development studies against CCHF, whose R&D studies are still ongoing and vaccine or definite treatment is still unknown in the world, are going on. The project led by Prof. Aykut ÖZKUL, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Ankara University, is supported by TÜSEB scientifically and financially (10 million TL) within the scope of “R&D Project Call for Strategical Health Technologies”.
On 17 May 2023, introductory and evaluation meeting was attended by Rector of Ankara University Prof. Necdet ÜNÜVAR, Assistants to Rector and Academicians, Deputy President of TÜSEB Prof. Rabia ÇAKIR KOÇ, Director of Türkiye Vaccine Institute Prof. Ateş KARA, Secretary General of TÜSEB Assoc. Prof. İbrahim Halil KAYRAL, Head of Project Management and Support Batuhan YEŞİLYURT and academicians from TÜSEB at Ankara University Senate Hall.
At the meeting, Prof. Aykut ÖZKUL conducting vaccine study delivered a presentation titled “Pre-clinic Characterization of Bicistronic Adenovirus Vector Vaccine Candidate Developed against Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever”.
