Turkish National Genome and Bioinformatics Project Continues Unabated

TÜSEB has undertaken the task of implementing the Türkiye Genome and Bioinformatics Project to analyze the molecular mechanisms of diseases, develop new diagnostic and therapeutic methods, and initiate individual-specific medicine studies within the scope of the tasks assigned to it in the 11th Development Plan. Accordingly, the Turkish Genome Center was included in the 2022 Investment Plan of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, and was established and put into operation within TÜSEB.

The National Biobank, where biological samples obtained within the scope of the project will be stored, has been established, and the latest technological devices required for the physical infrastructure have been allocated. TÜSEB continues to carry out research activities with high-level equipment using multiple methods, especially whole genome sequencing, without slowing down. You can access detailed information about the Turkey National Genome and Bioinformatics Project, which will change the course of genome studies in our country, at tugem.tuseb.gov.tr and the variant data obtained in the project from the "Türkiye Genome Project Data Sharing Portal".
