Türkiye – Africa Media Summit Ended With a Special Session
On the occasion of May 25 Africa Day, “Türkiye – Africa Media Summit”, organized by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications ended with a special session held on May 26, 2022. The summit was held in Istanbul and lasted for two days. At the special session held on the last day of the summit, Director of Türkiye Vaccine Institute Prof. Dr. Ateş Kara and Director of Türkiye Biotechnology Institute Assoc. Prof. Rabia Çakır Koç gave information about our domestic and national vaccine TURKOVAC.
Noting that TURKOVAC is effective against COVID-19 and has no unwanted side effects, Prof. Dr. Ateş Kara also stated that the safety records for a domestic and national vaccine are very high and the development work on TURKOVAC goes on.
Mentioning about process of development, features and production of TURKOVAC, Director of Türkiye Biotechnology Institute Assoc. Prof. Rabia Çakır Koç underlined that Türkiye is now capable of developing vaccine thanks to “know-how” acquiring during the production of TURKOVAC.
