TÜSEB Participated in Balkan Countries Health-Business Forum

Balkan Countries Health-Business Forum was held between April 25-27, 2025, with the participation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Türkiye, Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu, and the health ministers of 12 Balkan countries. Bringing together high-level representatives of the healthcare sector from Türkiye and the Balkan countries, this forum provided a significant platform for strengthening regional collaborations. The forum hosted sessions that aimed to develop international collaborations by addressing strategic issues in the healthcare sector.

Among the sessions held within the scope of the event, during the panel titled "The Role of Domestic and National Technologies in the Healthcare Sector, International Standards, and the Contribution of Universities," which took place on Sunday, April 27, representatives of prominent institutions in Türkiye's health science and technology ecosystem shared the latest developments in the sector and international collaboration opportunities with the participants.

On behalf of Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB), Vice President Prof. Dr. Mehmet Birhan Yılmaz, in his presentation titled "Domestic and National Technology, Innovative Health," detailed Türkiye's efforts in developing domestic technology in the health sector, the strategic projects carried out by TÜSEB, and its vision for increasing production capacity in the health field. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Birhan Yılmaz emphasized TÜSEB's significant role in achieving the goal of full independence in healthcare and the necessity of supporting domestic technologies.

In the same session, the President of Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK), Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ayar, assessed the current situation and international developments in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ayar provided detailed information on the harmonization processes of pharmaceuticals and medical products with international standards, as well as the current status and potential areas of cooperation in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors in Balkan countries. The Head of Türkiye Health Care Quality and Accreditation Institute (TÜSKA), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bayram Demir, emphasized the importance of quality standards in healthcare services and, in his presentation titled "International Quality Standardization and TÜSKA," conveyed TÜSKA's pioneering efforts in determining quality standards and accreditation processes for healthcare services.

Balkan Countries Health-Business Forum was successfully concluded as a highly productive event for strengthening existing collaborations and establishing new partnerships in the field of health with the countries of the region.
