TÜSEB International Scientific Advisory Board Member Prof. Dr. Canan Dağdeviren Featured as Guest of Honor at the United Nations 'Women Breaking Barriers' Event.

Prof. Dr. Canan Dağdeviren, a member of the International Scientific Advisory Board of Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB)—a board established to integrate the expertise and international experience of Turkish scientists serving abroad into TÜSEB’s strategic objectives—and a faculty member at the MIT Media Lab, participated as a guest of honor and speaker at the 'Women Breaking Barriers' event held at the United Nations General Assembly Hall on March 31, 2026.

Held in collaboration with the United Nations, this high-level event brought together global leaders, scientists, activists, and innovators to address inequalities faced by women and to explore actionable solutions.

Prof. Dr. Canan Dağdeviren, who took the stage alongside distinguished international figures such as Amina J. Mohammed, Amanda Nguyen, and Tatyana McFadden, emphasized the critical importance of global efforts aimed at the empowerment of women. 

During the program, the impacts of violence against women and girls worldwide were addressed, alongside an evaluation of policy recommendations and strategic solutions aimed at eliminating gender-based inequalities.

The potential of wearable health technologies—developed under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Canan Dağdeviren at the MIT Media Lab—to specifically enhance access to women's healthcare was also highlighted during the event.
